General Rules and Regulations for Boys and Girls Hostel

Behavior and Discipline

  • Noise Control: Keep conversation, music, and gadget volume low to maintain a calm environment.
  • Respect and Space: Respect fellow hostellers and staff; maintain personal space.
  • Dress Code: Casual outfits are allowed in the hostel, but dress decently in the dining area.
  • Prohibited Behavior: Theft, violence, substance abuse, and political activities are strictly forbidden. Violators face disciplinary action, fines, and police reporting if necessary.
  • Dining Hours:
    • Working Days: Breakfast 7:30–8:45 a.m., Lunch 1:00–1:55 p.m., Dinner 7:30–8:30 p.m.
    • Holidays: Breakfast 8:00–9:15 a.m., Lunch 1:00–2:00 p.m., Dinner 7:30–9:00 p.m.
  • Room Checks: Wardens and student representatives may perform surprise checks; cooperation is expected.
  • Study Hours: Quiet study time from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; silence is required until 7:00 a.m.
  • Presence During Working Hours: Remaining in the hostel during college hours requires prior approval.
  • Leave for Emergencies: Permission needed from class tutor/warden to leave duringworking days.
  • In and Out Register: Follow gate outing timings (5:00–7:00 p.m. on working days; 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. on holidays, limited to 5 hours).
  • Room Allocation: Hostellers must occupy only their assigned rooms.

Visiting Policy

Visitor Restrictions

No visitors inside hostel rooms or premises.

Meeting Area

Visitors, including parents, can only meet hostellers in the warden office or visiting lounge.

Identification and Permission

Authorized visitors must show ID and seek warden permission to take students off-campus.

Caretaking of Hostel Premises

  • Room Cleanliness: Hostellers are responsible for keeping rooms and bathrooms clean.
  • Energy Conservation: Switch off fans and lights when leaving the room.
  • Personal Belongings: Students are responsible for their belongings; the college is not liable for losses.
  • Vehicle Restriction: No two-wheelers or four-wheelers allowed in the hostel.
  • Unauthorized Appliances: Unauthorized electrical gadgets are prohibited, with a fine for violations.
  • Room Repairs Report damaged furniture or fittings immediately to the warden.
  • Celebrations: Only low-key birthday celebrations in the dining hall are allowed at 5:15 p.m.
  • Waste Disposal: Dispose of plastic, food, and sanitary waste in designated bins.

First aid kits available; emergency medical arrangements made by hostel authorities if needed.

Medical Expenses

Parents are responsible for any expenses related to medical emergencies.

Safety and Security

Outing Regulations

Permitted outings from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on working days; prior permission for longer outings on holidays.

Guardian Stay Policy

Staying with guardians on working days requires written permission.

Room Security

Hostellers should lock their rooms when leaving.

Internet Facilities

  • Internet Access: Usage is a privilege; misuse, such as accessing restricted websites, incurs fines and disciplinary action.

Updates and Announcements

  • Notice Board: Updates will be posted on the Notice Board or via WhatsApp. Hostellers should not post unauthorized materials.

Revision of Rules and Regulations

  • Policy Updates: The college reserves the right to modify rules and regulations. Hostellers will be informed of any changes.
  • Compliance: Breaking rules may lead to expulsion from the hostel and disciplinary action.

Hostel Facilities

  • Room Cleanliness: Students must maintain room and laundry area cleanliness.
  • Recreation: Access to gym, badminton, and volleyball areas during scheduled hours (5:00–6:30 p.m. on weekdays; 4:30–7:30 p.m. on weekends).

Termination of Hostel Facility

  • Disciplinary Action: Hostel privileges can be withdrawn without notice for misuse or rule violations.
  • Warden's Rights: The management/warden may deny or withdraw hostel access at any time.
  • Vacating Policy: Hostels are allotted on a yearly basis; mid-year departure is not allowed without paying full dues.
